Oliver from The xx has told Radio X the new stuff is sounding good and he's very excited by it.
Oliver from The xx has told Radio X they're already working on new material while on the road - which is a new thing for them.
"We've had a bit of a breakthrough this last month or two of touring. What we thought was impossible... we've been able to actually be creative and work [while we're on tour].
"Every backstage we're in we set up a basic recording set up and... yeah it's working," he explained to Radio X's Dan O'Connell.
"We have bare skeletons of things - not necessarily song yet but.... yeah it's sounding really good and I'm excited by it."
Earlier this week The xx announced they're going to put on three mini-festivals called NIGHT + DAY next summer.
The one day events in Lisbon, Berlin and just outside London have been curated by the band.
The UK event - at Osterley Park - will be The xx's biggest UK show so far and is the first time the National Trust park has been used for a gig.
The NIGHT + DAY show dates are:
May 5 2013 - Lisbon Jardim da Torres de Belëm
May 18 2013 - Berlin Spreepark
June 23 - Osterley Park & House, Isleworth
Tickets for all three go on sale this Friday (December 14) and more info can be found on the band's website.
