The band will make a cameo in the latest flick from Shane Meadows.

Arctic Monkeys are to make an appearance in a new movie. The Sheffield band are to star in the latest film from Shane Meadows, director of 'This Is England', called 'Le Donk'.

The plot concerns a roadie called Donk, who is played by Paddy Considine, who's already appeared in the Monkeys video for 'Leave Before The Lights Come On'. According to the director, some scenes were shot at the band's 2007 show at Manchester's Lancashire Country Cricket Club.

The film will have its premiere at this year's Edinburgh International Film Festival in June.
